Surrounded by award winning beaches and with the ideal climate the beautiful seaside town of Bowen is the perfect destination for your next tropical holiday. There is plenty to see and plenty to do. Fishing, snorkelling, diving, sailing, wind surfing, golf, bowling, and much, much more.

Bowen is a great place to snorkel or scuba dive, you can walk off the beach into the crystal clear water and enter an underwater world of corals, reef fish and marine life.

With its many waterways Bowen is an excellent spot for fishing. Fish found in the waters around Bowen include the much sought after coral trout, cod, sweetlip, whiting, mackerel and even Barramundi. Mud crabs and crayfish can also be found. If you don’t happen to catch anything head down to the Boat Harbour and grab some fresh local seafood.

Besides our beautiful beaches, Bowen is also known for its murals. 24 murals depicting Bowen’s diverse history from the town’s early settlement to the present day are displayed throughout the streets of Bowen.

There are a number of lookouts around Bowen for visitors to view the township and the surrounding coastline.  A must is Bowen’s Flagstaff Hill which offers amazing 360 degree views of the Bowen area and the Whitsundays.  Mount Nutt lookout offers a viewing tower at the top of a reservoir providing visitors with views over the coastline, Bowen’s farming areas and the coal loading port at Abbot Point.

A perfect spot for a bbq or picnic and very popular with bird watchers is Bowen’s Muller’s Lagoon.  Located in the centre of town, just across from the Centrepoint Shopping Centre, Muller’s Lagoon is over 23 hectares of parkland which has been turned into botanical gardens and wetlands.

For the golfing enthusiast to the novice, Bowen’s Golf Club not only offers a well laid out challenging course it also offers spectacular seaside views.  The Clubhouse provides a friendly environment to enjoy a nice cool drink and has a large outdoor deck to allow guests to relax and enjoy the marvellous views over the golf course and the coastline.  The Club is open for dining on Friday nights.
